Technical University Ibadan (TECH-U), is the the first Technical University, is grounded in entrepreneurial practices, innovations and sustainability. The University was established by the Oyo State Government to bridge the skill gap between competences of University graduates and industry requirements through a blend of theory, practical and hands-on experiences.
The University has a total of 15 academic programmes approved by the National Universities Commission (NUC). Listed below are the core requirements for aspirants who want to gain into Technical University (Tech-U) through JAMB (UTME)
- Aspirants must choose the correct JAMB Subject Combination for the choice of course he wish to study.
- Aspirants must meet the university cut off Mark in other to be qualified to sit for their post UTME.
- Aspirants must meet the departmental cut off mark before he can proceed to apply for the Post UTME form otherwise he will have to do changing of course.
- Aspirants must be up to 16 years (sixteen years old) of age which is the minimum age requirement.
- Other requirements might be applied to other department but, above are the core requirements to gain admission into TECH-U through UTME entry.
Tech-U Courses Offered and Admission Requirements For Direct Entry (DE) 2024/2025
Below requirements are very important for candidates who wants to study in Technical University through direct entry mode.
- Aspirants are to purchase Tech-U direct entry form via the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
- Aspirants are expected to have a minimum merit pass in one of the following; National Diploma ND), National Certificate of Examinations (NCE) or Advance level certificate
- Candidates must have at least two passes in IJMB or JUPEB A’ level in relevant Subject.
- Aspirants with degree certificate are expected to have a merit of first class or second class upper before applying and it should be relevant to the course he wish to study.
